Semana passada correram rumores de que a versão Release Candidate do Windows 7 seria liberada em 5 de maio. Hoje, a Microsoft anunciou no blog oficial do seu sistema operacional que a versão final de teste estará mesmo disponível para download a partir dessa data. A notícia é do site TG Daily .

Mesmo antes disso, o Windows 7 poderá ser baixado por desenvolvedores (participantes da MSDN – Microsft Developer Network) e assinantes da TechNet, comunidade de profissionais de TI da empresa, já no dia 30 de abril. Porém, o site CNET informa que esta última versão, a build 7100, já estaria disponível na internet de forma não-oficial, pois a Microsoft já teria colocado o “relelase candidate” nas mãos de um seleto grupo de pessoas.

“Estou feliz em compartilhar com vocês que o RC está a caminho para que em 30 de abril ele possa ser baixado pelos usuários da MSDN e da TechNet. Para o público comum, a disponibilidade começará a partir do dia 5 de maio.”, disse Brandon LeBlanc, funcionário da empresa de Bill Gates.

A Microsoft também aproveitou o post para agradecer a todos os beta testers por enviarem muitas sugestões e críticas. Foi registrado um formulário de beta test a cada 15 segundos em uma semana. A empresa espera que esta versão seja a última antes dos lançamento oficial do sistema operacional.

O Windows 7 estava previsto para ser lançado em janeiro de 2010, mas os planos foram modificados e a Microsoft espera ter seu mais novo sistema operacional nas prateleiras já nas festas de final de ano.
