ST. POELTEN, Áustria (Reuters) - O austríaco Josef Fritzl disse na quinta-feira lamentar "do fundo do corao" ter trancado e estuprado a filha em um por磣o de sua casa durante 24 anos, enquanto a acusao pedia em julgamento que lhe fosse aplicada a pena de pris磣o perpétua.
O réu de 73 anos, que teve sete filhos com sua filha Elisabeth, declarou-se culpado dos crimes de incesto, estupro, cárcere privado e homicídio, por negligência, de um bebê nascido no cativeiro em 1996.
"Não posso fazer mais nada a respeito (...). Lamento isso do fundo do meu corao", disse Fritzl em suas declara磧ões finais no julgamento.
O advogado de Elisabeth disse que as declaraes n絣o pareceram sérias, sugerindo que Fritzl estava apenas buscando uma pena mais branda.
O juiz e os oito jurados se retiraram para deliberar o veredicto e a sentença, a serem divulgados provavelmente na tarde de quinta-feira (horário local). Pela lei austríaca, a confissão não basta para condenar alguém.
Fritzl inicialmente se declarou inocente, mas na quarta-feira voltou atrás, depois de se emocionar ao assistir 11 horas de um depoimento em vídeo de Elisabeth, hoje com 42 anos.
O advogado dele, Rudolf Mayer, confirmou relatos de que Elisabeth esteve na terça-feira incógnita no tribunal, e afirmou que seu cliente ficou "devastado" ao vê-la nas galerias durante a exibio do depoimento.
Fritzl admitiu ter encarcerado a filha em um c磴modo construído para esse fim no subsolo da casa da família. Disse também que errou ao não procurar auxílio médico quando um dos seus filhos-netos, recém-nascido, desenvolveu um grave problema respiratório que levou à sua morte.
Se for condenado por homicídio, a pena varia de dez anos à prisão perpétua.
A promotora-chefe do caso, Christiane Burkheiser, disse que Fritzl reduziu a filha a "uma condio de total depend磪ncia e a tratava como sua propriedade".

When choosing a cellphone, it is always helpful to compare. Although quite similar aesthetically, the Nokia 6300 and the Samsung U800 have some technical differences, and it is important to know what they are so you can make an informed decision on what will suit your needs and wants the best.

Both phones have downloadable games, MIDP 2.0 Java, and a smoothly running WAP 2.0/xHTML browser. Both cellphones offer radio; the Nokia has stereo FM and visual radio; Samsung, stereo FM with RDS.
The appearance of cameras in cellphones has become almost compulsory; however, the speed, quality and overall feel of the camera can vary widely, and the need for such features can also vary in importance to each user. The Nokia 2 megapixel camera sports six resolutions the top being 1600x1200 (large enough to print a 6x4 inch photo), down to 160x120. However, it does not have a dedicated activation key and no flash, which may be bothersome to some people. Samsung, on the other hand, has a 3 megapixal camera which takes pictures and video that can easily be uploaded to websites and blogs using Shozu software. It also has a 3.15 megapixal resolution, and LED flash.
From music to ringtones, sound is also of high importance to modern cellphones. The U800 device can play the majority of the most frequently used media formats, such as MP3 files, WMA and AAC; 5800 can play MP3s as well. In addition to that it also plays MP4 and WAV files, and it also utilizes MP3 files for ringtones as well as polyphonic and video sounds. Ringtones for the Samsung phone use polyphonic and MP3s, too, and you can also create and download customizable sounds for your cellphone.
In summation, the two handsets are very similar in both style and operation. However, the minor differences may make a fairly large impact. For instance, if you are a photo enthusiast, you may prefer the higher quality and large amount of space available on the Samsung U800 phone. On the other hand, you may simply like the idea of having a camera handy for spontaneous picture taking, in which case, the Nokia 6300 would work just fine. Whatever your preferences are, both phones are equally praised for their high quality and aesthetic appeal.
